With the opening of Northlake Mall, Mallard Grove has two nearby regional malls. Concord Mills is one of the leading shopping destinations in the Carolinas. The outlet mall features hundreds of the best names in retail. The NASCAR SpeedPark, Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, Books-A-Million, Dave & Buster's, Sun & Ski Sports and the AMC 24 Theatres are some of the fun places at the Mills. In addition, there are several dining spots in and around Concord Mills.

Northlake Mall, located just west of I-77 on Harris Blvd., features over 150 stores and restaurants. The 1.1-million-square-foot shopping center contains five anchors: Dillard's, Belk, Hecht's, Dick's Sporting Goods and a 14-screen AMC megaplex. Abercrombie & Fitch, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Borders Books & Music, Coldwater Creek and Pottery Barn are just a few of the major retailers with stores at Northlake.

The area around Northlake is being developed with additional restaurants and retail stores. HH Gregg, Staples and a number of furniture stores have already opened. Restaurants near the mall include Firebird's, Chili's, Olive Garden, PF Chang, and On the Border.

Neighbors of University City reported that two shopping complexes near Northlake Mall will open in July 2008. NorthCrest will feature a SuperTarget and specialty shops. Perimeter Woods will be home to Best Buy, Lowe's, PetSmart, OfficeMax and Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse. I-485 is also suppose to be opened at that time.

SouthPark Mall and its surrounding area offer Charlotte's most upscale shopping. SouthPark can be reached in about 30 minutes unless it's rush hour.

Most of your shopping needs can be found at the several local shopping centers, many within ten minutes of Mallard Grove.
